Description
The Asian Wine Lexicon was a project by 3 wine lovers, Jenny TAN, Edwin SOON and Daniel CHIA, who came together to develop a vocabulary of localised wine descriptors.
The lexicon was trialled via wine reviews on various magazines, and on local newspapers, and also used in formal post-secondary and undergraduate level wine classes for culinary students. The use of local descriptors in wine notes and reviews had received positive feedback from both experienced and new wine consumers in Singapore, while the students who were mostly new to wine, reported that it was easier to learn how to describe and communicate about wines using familiar local descriptors rather than foreign ones.
